Yet another image from the Wrong side of the Harbour Bridge. The Halo ruins it a little but it was created/exaggerated when converting to the J. Holmes colour space(?). Does anyone have any knowledge/insight that may help rid me of this troublesome halo?

This was taken late afternoon from the Observatory gardens. I think I actually prefer this side of the Bridge to the Rocks side. It’s way less touristy but to me that makes it more like, Sydney! Apart from the addition of the border this image was edited  using Aperture 3.

First post in what seems like ages, and it is!

This was taken early on a Sunday morning, there wasn’t  a cloud in the sky and I don’t have another sky to just drop in to replace the bright blue one that I got. Still, inspiration was found from a Christian Fletcher Tutorial featuring Eureka 88 in Melbourne. With all of those trees’ dropping in a new sky, AKA Peter Eastway, could get interesting.

I didn’t go as far as he (CF) did in the tutorial as I wanted to keep the colour in the buildings and ended up with a stormy look to the heavens!

Karijini Falls #01 take 3

New, new version, less blue version. I’d appreciate any comments? I like it less blue has enhanced the greens, comments’ anyone?

Thanks for the comments comrades’ in photography, I haven’t produced a square crop as I thought but this is the crop I produced to the requirements of the ‘Better’ series of magazines. Personally, I like this better, square will work but I think this has quite a nice balance.  Once cropped I added a level adjustment that brightened it up a little too. I’ll be interested to see what feed back I get, both images are posted.

It’s been a while, but this is my first offering from the Karijini Workshop I went to recently. I like the deep blue reflections in the pool of water. I hope this is the first on many posts…

Here’s an image of the Palisade Hotel that has has been bugging me for quite awhile. I’d really appreciate some feedback on this image. I’m hoping to get back back there later this year and spend some effort on this unique icon of Sydney. I think the area north of The Rocks has a lot to offer. I think I may re-crop and try an Eastway effect, on the hotel itself and darken the edges. Ideas??

I took this image near Marysville last year. I guess it shows how well the Australian bush can bounce back after a massive trauma. I was here two years ago before the fire and I was in awe of the place. Looks very different now, but the residents are starting to rebuild, starting with the tourist industry. When I was there a large marque filled with local produce, a cafe, and the original bakery which survived was doing a great trade. I look forward to visiting again next year to see how the regeneration has progressed.
